lyrics
On a Winter’s morning, father said to me,
“It’s your turn son, to be a man.”
He handed his axe, a smirk on his face
Cut me down a full pine tree, from that place.
And so I packed my things and hit the road,
And slung the axe upon my back.
He said, “Son, beware of that frosty bite,
For in that fallen snow hides, a fearsome beast.”
And then I remembered what they said,
“Glowing red eyes and predator of the night,
Long bony claws hidden by the white,
Gnarled onyx teeth, red left behind,
And snow-filled imprints where his own sign.”
The snow broke with every step I took,
And in this silent forest I was alone.
When I reached the spot, and found the perfect tree,
I took the axe he gave me, I hacked it down.
I began my descent, and the snow fell,
And I was trapped and blind, and in the wild,
But the one thing, the snow couldn’t hide,
His haunting boiling eyes, they were red.
Well then I understood what they said,
“Haunted eyes and predator of the night,
Long bony claws hidden by the white,
Gnarled onyx teeth, red left behind,
And snow-filled imprints where his own sign.”
Bursting from the cabin, father heard my call.
The beast broke chase before his torch.
The howl faded fast, and I heard my father say,
“That’s not Santa,
That’s the Christmas Yeti.”
